The Jefferson County Emergency Communications Authority (JCECA) Board of Directors is appointed by the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners (BCC). Representatives of two fire protection districts and two municipalities along with one county commissioner comprise the board (5 voting members). Traditionally the commissioner who is appointed gives their proxy and is represented on the board by the County Emergency Manager.
